Change of Plans

The upcoming week I'll do two talks at LinuxTag 2010 at the Berlin Fair Grounds. One of them was only added to the schedule today, about systemd. Systemd has never been presented in a public talk before, so make sure to attend this historic moment... ;-). Read about what has been written about systemd so far, so that you can ask the sharpest questions during my presentation.

My second talk might be about stuff a little less reported in the press, but still very interesting, about Surround Sound in Gnome.

See you at LinuxTag!

Lennart,

I just felt I had to send you some kudos regarding your project. I feel systemd is by far the coolest Linux project in development right now (on my personal list right before the btrfs project). It excellently represents the true Linux/OSS spirit by wholeheartedly borrowing something from others and then adding a lot of truly genuine creativity to solve a known problem in an novel way. You are my hero! I am writing this, because I feel you could use (and even deserve) some positive feedback.

By following the progress of the project on the Git repository I can only see that there is a lot of resources and dedication being put on the project. Nevertheless, I feel that the project could use some more positive PR. It would help a lot, if you could take a bit of time and posted some short weekly reports about what is going on with the project and where to go next. Maybe just a few lines on your own blog or on the project's mailing-list, just to keep people informed what is going on, as probably the majority isn't following the stream of Git updates.

Regards,
Peter

Do you have slides or audio or so from your systemd talk? I would love to read/listen to it.

ulrik: nope, my talk was not videotaped (at least not to my knowledge).

My (terse) slides you find here: http://0pointer.de/public/systemd-presentation-linuxtag2010.pdf
