LAC Video Streams Online

Nice talk.

One question though. I get why Pulseaudio has higher latency than Jack, less interrupts.

But what is the reason Pulseaudio has higher latency than Alsa?

Also why doesn't anyone keep a table of sound card with a matrix of features they support properly and features that are buggy. By features i mean things like accurate timing or accurate dB, etc.

Harz: well, the latency you get depends on the latency apps ask for. And if we run into drop-outs providing that we bump the latency bit by bit until we do not run into drop-outs anymore. On some cards the detection of drop-outs does not work correctly because the timing information from the driver might be incorrect.
